1. Caffeinated coffee or tea: Caffeine can help reduce a sudden headache which is why it is added to many of the over the counter pain relievers.  According to Phyllis D. Light, a herbalist and instructor at Clayton College of Natural Health in Birmingham, Ala caffeinated coffee can be a emergency remedy for asthma in adults, because caffeine reduces inflammation in bronchial pathways. — The suggested amount is about 3 cups of caffeinated coffee or tea.

According to the 1995-1997 Nord-Trondelag Health Survey too much caffeine, 5 cups or more can cause headaches,  so please be careful on how much on drink, especially if you are prone to migraines headaches.

Apple Cider Vinegar:  From Hippocrates to modern-day doctors, apple cider vinegar has been used to treat many ailments such as external bruises, sprains, painful joints, lack of energy, warts, and are even used on animals. According to Dr. Carolyn Dean, apple cider vinegar contains acetic lactic and it acts as an astringent and draws out inflammation on bruises and such.  Soak an elastic bandage in a mixture of equal parts of apple cider vinegar and water and squeeze out the water, wrap it around the injured joint, leave on for 1 hour. This can be repeated regularly for a few days until you fill relief.

Some studies suggest that vinegar can increase metabolism. This in turn helps the body process food and burn more calories and can help you loss weight, which so many of us battle with constantly!

It is also known to help with digestive problems, take 1 tsp in a glass of water before a meal and it will help stop chronic indigestion and heartburn (my husband has tried this and it works very well for him).

3. Raw white potato: According to the University of Maryland Medical Center, raw white potatoes has astringent properties and can be use for Conjunctivitis. It will dry and disinfect the oozing and tearing associated with this condition.  Clean and scrub the potato thoroughly, then grate it and wrap it in cheese cloth or similar material. Do it for several nights and if  you don’t see improvement after 2 or 3 application then it would be a good idea to go see your doctor or health care provider.

4. Vitamin E oil: Vitamin E is and antioxidant that is great for burns, is a great lubricant and prevents the aging caused by sunburns and harsh soaps. It works better if you use it on smaller burns since it is fairly thick and make sure you use a good quality Vitamin E that does not have fragrance or other additives in it. Read labels very carefully!
