If you eat pork, get ready to pay a lot more for it.  A highly contagious pig virus known as “Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea virus” has now spread to 27 different U.S. states, and it has killed more than 4 million hogs since last May.  Smithfield Foods, the largest pork producer in the entire world, estimates that approximately 10 percent of all adult female hogs in America have contracted the disease already, and there is a very good chance that any offspring that they have will die.  That is because the mortality rate for this disease for piglets is between 80 and 100 percent.  Fortunately, we are being told that this disease does not affect humans.  However, considering the fact that California is in the midst of one of the worst droughts in recorded history, and considering the fact that the U.S. cattle herd has shrunk for seven years in a row, this pig virus is coming at a very, very bad time.

And the frightening thing is that the spread of this disease appears to be accelerating.  Back in January, it had only been found in 22 states.  But now, it has been found in 27 states

Arizona is the latest state to confirm cases of the deadly Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea virus, a highly contagious pig disease, increasing the tally of U.S. states with confirmed cases to 27, a group of animal health researchers said.

According to Reuters, there are 4,458 cases that authorities are currently monitoring.  But it is important to keep in mind that a single case can represent “an entire herd”…

Confirmed cases of PEDv increased by 274 in the week ending March 8, bringing the total number to 4,458 in 27 states.

While one case can represent an individual animal or an entire herd at a single site, hog industry analysts estimate PEDv has killed between 4 million and 5 million U.S. hogs since it was discovered in May 2013.

PEDv, which does not affect humans and is not a food safety risk, causes diarrhea, vomiting and severe dehydration in pigs. While older pigs have a chance of survival, 80 to 100 percent of piglets that contract it die.

This is a disease which can be spread from mothers to their children, and that is why it is so troubling that approximately 10 percent of all adult females now have this virus.  The following is an excerpt from a recent Fox News article.

Smithfield Foods Inc., the world’s largest pork producer, and other meatpackers estimate that about 10% of the nation’s sows, or adult female hogs, have been infected by the virus, which can spread to their offspring.

Perhaps you are thinking that you will just start eating more beef for a while.

And under normal circumstances, that would be no problem at all.

Unfortunately, the beef industry is having huge problems right now as well because of the horrible drought in the western half of the country.  The total size of the U.S. cattle herd has been shrinking for seven years in a row, and it is now the smallest that it has been since 1951.

But today we have more than twice as many people as we had back in 1951.

So we have got a huge problem.  Our cattle herd is shrinking and an extremely contagious virus is killing off our pigs.

This isn’t a major crisis just yet, but if these trends continue we will definitely get there.

But even if a major crisis is averted somehow, without a doubt the price of meat in America is going to be rising for quite some time to come.

And perhaps it is fitting that a pig virus is sweeping the nation, because we have literally become “pig people” in the eyes of the rest of the world.

We like to think of ourselves as “good examples” that the rest of the world should follow, but the truth is that pretty much all that we are giving the rest of the world these days are really, really bad examples.

As I was researching this piece, I came across an article about how one of the most popular performers in America had someone literally vomit on her while she was performing her hit song “Swine”…

Pop star Lady Gaga is known for her shocking outfits and antics. But what she did on stage Thursday night at the South By Southwest festival in Austin, Texas, has left even some of the most desensitized critics calling it “ridiculous” and “sick.”

While performing her song “Swine,” the singer was joined by someone named Millie Brown. Brown is an artist of sorts who specializes in painting with…vomit. That’s right, she ingests colored liquid and then sticks her fingers down her throat and literally vomits all over a canvas. On Thursday, Brown did just that — except there was no canvas: She vomited a green liquid onto Lady Gaga.

Is this what our country has turned into?

For many more examples such as this one, please see two of my previous articles entitled “16 Examples That Show The United States Has Become A Seriously Messed Up Country” and “55 Things About America You May Not Know“.

The sad thing is that Lady Gaga has tens of millions of adoring fans in this nation, and stunts like these only tend to increase her popularity.

Now that we have gotten to the point where having someone vomit on a woman is considered to be “entertainment”, it is hard to be optimistic about the future of this nation.

But perhaps there are some out there that believe that I am being too harsh.

So what do you think?

Can I really share? Well, I guess I won’t share like Lady Gaga’s friend did , but here goes nothin. So, I live in Baja Mexico. Ya, I know, Mexico, the drug cartel of the world next to Afghanistan but across the world. Anyway, I left the states right before Obummer was elected because I knew that he was going to win. How did I know? I was around a lot of young people and around a lot of people who were tired of war in Iraq and just plain tired. Me too! I was tired of watching all my hard work go to taxes and house payments that I saw never getting lower and only feeding, well let’s be honest, the pigs in Washington. The problem was I knew too much. What I mean is, I have been around the world and lived in many places both in the US and abroad and what I know is, people are who they are. When I saw all the Black and Liberal and media hype for Obummer, I knew if he got in the white house, the America that I thought I knew , even a little bit , would be gone in a matter of years. Now, don’t get me wrong. My family, including my Son, right now, were or are all military and or literally rocket scientist for the good old days of NASA and McDonald Douglas, so our heart was
in the right place, but at that moment I decided to live one of my last dreams on the sea of cortez as a high speed boat captain and run a off shore tourist company. What a blast for a little while. The first three years were incredible. Life could not get much better, and then, well, the world crashed. 2009 was when things hit hard in the Mex, and it has never been the same since. I have fought very hard to keep my boats and business but with all the bandito attorneys and Crummy Gringo and Canadians that are Obummer supporters down here, it has become too much. Back to the Pig problem. Down here, the meat comes from local farms and is like back in the 50’s and 60’s. Not a lot of dies or color and it is fairly fresh if not that day off the hoof. The problem I see is what happens when we decide to eat fish and not pigs or beef. Well, fukashima has pretty much messed up that direction. In fact, I believe we are already seeing affects of that here in the sea of cortez to be honest with you. The winds here drive straight down south from the Arizona and California and I am seeing some signs that many here are discounting. But remember, I am in and on the water all the time, and when you have hundreds of dead puffer fish and other fish, well, it just does not go easy. This is not a simple problem. There are other signs as well. Anyway, I want to also touch on something else. I hope that someone soon comes up with some super super undeniable proof about Planet x. I am not a skeptic, but far too many people are. Someone really needs to wake up the world on this subject and put an end to the world wars and money BS and start thinking about how precious life is and how we need the NWO to back off and get out of our lives. I could go on and on. Oh yes, Q- What are the chances the Pig sickness can cross over to Humans. I know how close we are to pigs and it sounds like a disaster just waitin to happen. Take care 🙂

Ever considered becoming a vegetarian? I’ve been one for over 30 years & I can’t remember the last time I was sick (never even consider going to a doctor). In order to wake up the world, you have to start with the earth…which includes all species living on it.

Actually yes by default. I have had my share of problems as you can read about, and with that said, Rice and Beans and Veggies are what happen most often. The problem is quantity and time. I need to eat a lot of veggies to maintain enough energy for any day that involved my work and that is hard to do down here. If I have Fish or pork or beef, I can go one or two meals a day and do ok. With veggies, I need to eat all the time. You are right about the doctors. I have not seen a doctor in over 25 years or a dentist for that matter and I am doing great. I supplement my diet with as much nutts( not Obamacare) and local honey and veggies all the time I can. When I need to go out in the Sea and really work out and do some stress stuff, it is almost mandatory that I have animal protein or suffer. That is just the way my body seems to work. Any ideas? By the way, thanks for your comment and interest. It is appreciated!

Sorry for belated reply. What you need is VITAMINS & MINERALS found in the enzymes of LIVING food — that’s fresh, unprocessed & picked straight from the garden, tree or health food store. Every day eat a big plate of organic dark leafy green salad with avocado, cucumbers, broccoli, various seeds, oil & vinegar (Earth Girl is a great brand with kale, arugula, etc.) and lots of fruits. Grow a garden! No canned junk. I very rarely eat what’s considered “protein” but do occasionally enjoy stuff with beans, lentils, black eyed peas, tempeh and tofu for variety.

A recent undercover investigation at a pig farm in Kentucky revealed *on film* pigs being fed diarrhea and intestines from their own offspring! When busted, the pig farm had the audacity to claim they were just trying to “inoculate” the pigs with the virus by feeding them infected corpses! (In reality they were just saving themselves money by not having to buy food or dump the hundreds of dead pigs) People say “pigs will eat anything” — really? Like they have a choice? And what does that say about PEOPLE who eat pigs? My God, when will people wake up and realize these highly intelligent, sensitive creatures are our nearest relative in the animal kingdom (very close to primates) and should NOT be considered “food”! There’s never been a better time to become a vegetarian….

And if people don’t mind eating the corpses of pigs being forced to cannibalize themselves, I wonder how they feel about humans eating humans? I found this article on Sleuth Journal about human tissue being detected in meat — not surprising, since scientists have long been injecting human DNA into pigs (and probably the rest of the animal kingdom) in Frankenstein experiments! http://www.thesleuthjournal.com/human-tissue-found-in-meats-but-eating-it-is-no-threat/
