In July, DEF CON organizers asked feds not to attend the convention in light of the recent NSA surveillance allegations. However, the Black Hat conference in Vegas proudly announced that General Keith Alexander, the director of the NSA, would hold a keynote speech.
Alexander attempted to put the NSA’s programs in a favorable light, but the audience was unconvinced, and some attendees even booed him.
“You lied to Congress. Why would people believe you’re not lying to us right now?” someone said during his speech.
In case you haven’t had the chance to attend Black Hat, the event’s organizers have published a video of Alexander’s speech.
